MICHAEL WEISER

I was born and raised in California, starting with Southern California and moving to Northern California while still in elementary school, and I’m now based in San Jose. As early as age 10 I began to develop a passionate interest in photography. My Dad and his Dad before him were both serious hobbyists, so the interest was definitely handed down. I used to soak up every page of every National Geographic and I worshipped the photographers who made it to that level.

Later on in life, I went to college at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California and also picked up a degree in Visual Journalism from Brooks Institute of Photography and shot for the Santa Barbara News-Press for a while.

I love travel photography and still see myself as the kind of photographer who produces Nat Geo-style work. When I’m out shooting I never have a narrow focus as far as subject and style and I will capture what catches my eye - that could be a scenic, still life, portrait, or people going about their lives on the street.
